Working with a wide range of state-of-the-art instruments and an award-winning team of scientists, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment and performing various analytical tasks that support ongoing work in the areas of forensics, drug development, homeland defence and medical diagnostics.Main duties include:1. Maintenance of laboratory equipment2. Reagent preparation3. Perform analytical measurements to support ongoing technical projects4. Ensure laboratories are maintained in a clean and suitable state and are adequately stocked with consumables5. Assist in management of waste, including hazardous waste6. Provide cover for other technical or administrative staff during absence7. Perform minor facility repairs where appropriateSkills and experience requiredNo experience is necessary for this position. Full training will be provided. However, prior experience of working in a laboratory environment would be an advantage.This would suit a highly motivated and reliable individual with great attention to detail, who must be willing to learn new practical skills and knowledge relating to analytical chemistry.
