·Ensuring that all staff working within the home provide a consistent service to the young people resident in the home. Staff working in the home should work consistently within the framework of relevant legislation and the home's policies and procedures.
·Making sure the training and development of care staff and others as required.
·Overseeing the required paperwork related to managing a children's home.
·Regular monitoring, in line with regulations, of all records kept by the home to ensure compliance with the home's policies, to identify any concerns about specific incidents, and to identify patterns and trends. This includes relevant policies, statement of purpose, children's guide, individual young people case files, supervisions, training records, financial budgetary information, complaints, incident reports, and anything else stated as required in the appropriate legislation or requested for a specific young person, subject to agreement with the placing authority.Essential:·Minimum of Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma Level 3
·Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Level 5 or other Management qualification within 3 years of appointment.
·2 years experience working in a position relevant to the residential care of children in the last 5 years.
·Minimum 1 years experience of supervision and management of others in a care role.
·Knowledge and understanding of Children Act 1989 and associated regulations and guidance.
