At JCDecaux UK, the role of a Business Intelligence Analyst (BIA) is instrumental in supporting the suite of business intelligence applications and aiding in the production of business intelligence data sets across various departments.The position is part of the Governance & Reporting team within the Business Support function, reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead (BIL). The role also involves assisting the Business Analysis team and any outsourced development providers in identifying and defining development requirements.As a dynamic and evolving company, JCDecaux UK is constantly seeking improvements in processes, systems, and working practices. The role of BIA plays a vital part in the success of not only the department but also the entire company.What you'll be doing...CapabilitiesIssue Management & Support
  • Assist end users by addressing business intelligence issues and incidents logged to the Application Support Desk.
  • Contribute to system improvements by understanding current practices and proposing modifications to the BIL.
  • Support the preparation of incident reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information for the BIL and other senior stakeholders.
  • Assist in the implementation of patches to applications for security and bug fixes.
  • Help monitor business intelligence application estate for performance issues and coordinate with the Infrastructure team as necessary.
  • Provide support in escalating issues to the outsourced development team for resolution.
Stakeholder Management
  • Assist in communication with application stakeholders at various levels.
  • Help in building and strengthening relationships within the business.
  • Support the communication of issues and risks in application deployments to the BIL.
  • Exhibit good interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Technical
  • Knowledge of configuring and maintaining workflows in Helpdesk systems (e.g., JitBit, Zendesk).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of cloud database technologies and SQL.
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools (MS Power BI, SAP Business Objects, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform and Power App deployments within BI contexts.
  • Basic understanding of software development fundamentals, processes, and procedures.
  • First hand experience with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
  • Basic experience in using scripting and coding languages (e.g., Java, PHP, Python).
  • Support for bespoke applications and underlying databases.
  • Assist in the setup and development of application data management workflows.
  • Skills in analysing large data sets to identify root causes of issues.
  • Ability to assist in in-depth modelling across multiple data sources and help produce reports for end-user and external system consumption.

  • Commit to the continuous improvement of implementation practices by reviewing system performance, user feedback, and team inputs.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of every product upgrade, outlining processes, challenges, solutions, and outcomes.

  • Languages: Proficiency in English; French is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage existing data models and reports, amending/scaling where required.
  • Analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
  • Design and implement dynamic reports and dashboards for business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with departments across the business to understand their reporting needs and provide BI solutions.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from various sources to build comprehensive data sets.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in BI and data analytics

  • 2 years + experience in Business Intelligence Analysis or Data Analysis
  • Degree in Business IT, Data Science, or Data Analytics related field or relevant industry experience.
