We are currently recruiting an Assistant Cook to join our team at Colleg Gwent, Cross Keys Campus, Risca Road, Newport, NP11 7ZAPerks of the job⦁ £10.60 per hour
⦁ Part time – 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7.30am - 2pm
⦁ 39 working weeks out of the year, term time only

⦁ As we are passionate about developing our people from within, great training is provided.What you'll be doing⦁ Assisting Chef Manager in preperation and production of breakfast and lunch
⦁ Serving and till operation
⦁ Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and equipment
⦁ Ensure food is correctly stored according to food safety policies and guidelines
⦁ Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment and utensils
⦁ Use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables and other food
⦁ Present and garnish food and portions according to guidelines
⦁ Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers and co workers
⦁ Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklistsExperience
- NVQ in catering is desired but not essential
- Previous cooking experience
- DBS checks required
- E learning is available through our online learning system to obtain Food Safety Level 2/3 certificate
