is a family run business, situated in over 120 acres of farmland at the foot of the Bowland Fells in Dolphinholme, Lancashire, about a 15 minute drive from the Lancaster University campus.We are looking for part-time Bar and Serving staff, to be part of our busy team, to work during our forthcoming summer season.** We are hiring these roles to start as soon as possible.**** Due to the rural location of the business, you must have own transport as there are no direct links to public transport and also for your safety, when leaving the site during the hours of darkness. We are approximately 5 miles from Lancaster Uni.**About the RoleThe role of the Bar and Restaurant Server is essential in ensuring guests have a great experience while visiting Wyreside Lakes, welcoming everybody in our bar and restaurant, serving alcohol and other beverages, as well as food. Cleaning to maintain health and safety standards is also an essential part of the role. Due to the nature of this role, you can expect to work weekends, which will involve some early starts, around 8 am and late finishes after midnight. For this reason it is important to us that you are safe when you travel to and from work and be reliable and on time. You will need your own transport and be prepared to work, unsociable hours.About UsOn the estate there are 6 fishing lakes - with a superb stocking of coarse and pike, with the River Wyre meandering through the property alongside the beautiful woodland.Over the last 30 years the estate has been transformed by the Birkin family and appeals to fishermen and families who wish to have a relaxing break in a beautiful setting, without having to travel long distances to Britain's national parks. Our busiest times are weekends, especially bank holidays and school holidays. July and August are naturally our busiest months and when you could expect to work, the majority of your time with us.We are open to campers and self-caterers, who benefit from our catering facilities, including bar, restaurant and function room as well as a 4 star camping and caravanning site, open to caravans, tents and glamping pods.Also, in the main building there is a small site camping and tackle shop, laundry room and several toilet & shower blocks, all of which we maintain to a high standard for our guests.Special info: Bar experience preferred but training will be given.Shifts available: VariousContract: Fixed Term until the end of the summer season, usually until the end of October.Availability throughout July and August including bank holidays is requiredWorking pattern/weekly hours: 16hrs per week.Hourly rate: CompetitivePlease contact Sally Hughes or Hazel Lowe in the first instance by email or telephone on 01524 79293.Job Description
  • Mixing and serving beverages
  • Taking beverage and food orders from customers or wait staff and serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail.
  • Satisfying customer requests in an efficient, timely and pleasant manner.
  • Assessing customer preferences and making drink recommendations.
  • Providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with customers.
  • Taking customer payments both in cash and card and providing change as needed.
  • Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers.
  • Keeping a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories.
  • Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment, including other customer areas such as toilet facilities.
  • Organising the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
  • Taking food orders from the customer and relaying them to the kitchen. Serving food items for customers at the bar.
  • Complying with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behaviour.
