- To assist Chief Technologist in providing expert knowledge/advice on diagnostic and interventional imaging equipment and or Radiotherapy equipment
- To support both the MES replacement programme for diagnostic equipment across MES schemes and to provide advice and support to New Business. Key Accountabilities
- Lead and maintain expert product knowledge of diagnostic imaging modalities
- Create and update detailed technical specifications for a variety of modalities for use in regular procurement programme and for new business purposes
- Review and evaluate equipment tender responses across a range of modalities
- Lead clinical client meetings where required i.e. MES Equipment replacement planning meetings, Supplier meetings and New Business Meetings
- Work closely with clinical clients to manage the selection of equipment replacements
- Assist in the specification and selection of diagnostic, interventional imaging and Radiotherapy equipment
- Lead on customer site visits for equipment procurement
- Liaise with project managers and service managers for the removal and installation of equipment
- Ensure applications training is delivered and recorded on installation of new equipment
- Maintain expert product knowledge via attendance on supplier site visits, exhibition attendance, external courses, tender reviews etc
- Assist with medical equipment queries – provide advice to all areas of the business
- Assist with MES account managers with contract variations Performance Indicators
- Provision of expert technical knowledge in area of proficiency
- Provision of detailed technical specifications
- Creation of and regular update of equipment banding matrices
- Meeting equipment procurement targets
- Meeting contractual deadlines
- Compliance with the companies’ visions and values
- Feedback from team, PMO and external clients
- Qualification in Diagnostic Radiographer, medical physics or similar
- Professional Registration as a Healthcare professional (Desirable)
- Detailed knowledge of medical equipment within one or more of the required modalities
- Ability to communicate with clinicians and NHS managers at all levels
- Self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience of working in a clinical setting and the understanding of the associated responsibilities and issues
- Experience of working with the NHS, with a thorough understanding of its processes and issues (Desirable)
- Good commercial understanding (Desirable)

- Role location – Theale/Hybrid
- UK travel – Regular – at least twice a week
- International travel - Occasional
- Royal London Pension - 5% employer contribution
- Death in Service Scheme after probation - 4 times salary
- Maternity - 21 weeks full enhanced maternity pay; this is inclusive of Statutory Maternity pay. Plus, after the employee has returned from Maternity Leave for 3 months, a 10% bonus will be paid, (with a commitment to work for 6 months plus)
