The team is committed to thinking strategically and improving the IT and business processes, to create bespoke class leading solutions. This role is to bring P&L and risk knowledge of commodity trades to the team and to provide vision for the systems direction.In this area of the business, EDF Trading has chosen to create bespoke applications to fully meet the business requirements and eliminate reliance on external vendors. This ensures maximum flexibility to change and adapt as the business needs demands.Experience required
  • Experience working in a commodity trading environment. This is detailed as follows:
  • Understanding of commodity market fundamentals, including trade instrument types and commodity specific nuances
  • Be able to provide detailed explanation of how P&L is calculated across a variety of energy commodity trade types including OTC forwards, swaps and ETDs.
  • Be able to fully breakdown the P&L explain into various components and show cashflows for the explain.
  • Working using Agile Scrum/Kanban Methodology
  • Must be proficient in SQL
  • Extensive experience working with the Product Control function with functional analysis, design and implementation of software solutions. In transaction and risk management systems, experience working in a large-scale fast paced trading and risk environment is essential - preferably within an investment banking, commodities trading house, tier one ETRM software solution provider or energy consultancy.
Person specification
  • Ability to work directly with the business teams to define functional requirements and to communicate in a meaningful manner with different levels within the organisation (traders, operations, department heads).
  • Ability to work closely with the EDFT technical development teams to help jointly define the optimum solutions. Must be able to communicate complex functional requirements and designs to technical staff.
  • Highly motivated to complete projects and ‘go the extra mile’ to meet deadlines.
  • Able to multi-task with minimal supervision.
Hours of work:8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday however flexibility required.
