Job Title: Mechatronic Maintenance TechnicianDivision: Weir Minerals Europe
Location: Todmorden, Onsite/ShiftPURPOSE OF ROLEWe are seeking an Apprentice engineer who will learn and develop into Mechatronic Maintenance Technician. This is a new apprenticeship role and will develop. This will involve learning a wide range of skills. Safety protocols, preventative maintenance, attending to breakdowns, carrying out machinery overhauls, completing remedial correctives and improving the plants availability and reliability.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is carried out, reducing the risk of downtime.
  • Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management.
  • Able to work unsupervised and prioritise their own time and activities.
  • Have strong analytical skills, supporting fast and effective problem solving.
  • Machine tool experience.
  • Flexibility to support any unplanned maintenance activities as required

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • GCSE’s
  • A qualification in IT/IS is preferrable
  • Enthusiasm for manufacturing
  • Possess a positive, practical attitude towards problem solving
  • Willingness to adopt lean manufacturing principles
  • Self-motivated, able to work under own initiative and without close supervision
  • Focused towards working within a devoted and continuously improving health and safety culture
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines

  • Level 3 NVQ in mechatronics.
  • Time served Maintenance Technician.
