Technical Training Manager (North), SOCOTEC, £35000 to £40000, Home Based (North of England)To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Infrastructure division. SOCOTEC is the UK's largest independent construction materials testing division, delivering seven million tests a year to more than 5,000 clients either in our laboratories or on-site. SOCOTEC offers the widest range of testing, inspection and certification services in the UK. Our sampling and testing methods are based upon current British and European standards and are accredited by UKAS.We're looking for a Technical Training Manager to lead the training and development of our construction materials technicians operating out of all of our Northern based offices. The role is primarily associated with our operations at Glasgow, Warrington, Doncaster and Newcastle but there could be a requirement to support any business unit nationwide. The role will cover laboratory and field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt and aggregates.
  • Train new and existing Laboratory and Field Technicians to comply with the latest British and European testing standards
  • Build and maintain accurate training records
  • Monitor training activities and offer guidance
  • Support the management teams
  • Develop and deliver training material

  • Excellent Communication Skills - Verbal, Written and Presentation
  • Training experience - identifying training needs, and learning styles, and assessing competency
  • Excellent knowledge of British and European Standards in a UKAS accredited laboratory capacity, specifically related to concrete, soils, aggregate and asphalt
  • Organised, flexible and committed
  • Full clean driving licence
  • CSCS Card
  • HNC in construction related field or equivalent or extensive experience
