- Communicate our vision for the development of the academic partnership with the host university, including liaising with STEM departments to ensure effective teaching and learning provisions across all STEM modules and to maximise opportunities for recruitment to the centre.
- Contribute to planning and development including human resources; academic development; learning, teaching and assessment; and academic quality assurance and enhancement, as part of the Academic Leadership Team
- Lead the performance management process with the STEM team, including Lesson Observations, facilitation of peer observations, setting outcomes and leading their annual performance review.
- Provide effective and efficient academic management and coordination of staff resources across the STEM team, working closely with the Head of Curriculum and Progression.
- Contribute towards ensuring that the recruitment of STEM staff is planned, timely and compliant.
- Oversee the effective operation of the STEM modules and programme review processes, and work on new programme development in collaboration with the Head of Curriculum & Progression
- Contribute to ensuring that the Centre is fully compliant with Study Group s, University of Aberdeen and relevant external agencies quality frameworks, policies, procedures, and codes of practice.
- Contribute to developing and measuring progress against actions in the Centre Action Plan (CAP).
- Contribute to analysing data and feedback from STEM modules and work with the Head of Curriculum and Progression to monitor progress towards progression targets, planning and implementing remedial actions where necessary.
- Contribute to reports, analysis and evaluation for all internal and external scrutiny processes as directed by the Head of the Centre and in collaboration with the Head of Curriculum and Progression.
- Work closely with the Head of Curriculum and Progression, Student Experience Manager, and the PS office to ensure that timetables and assessment schedules are delivered effectively, staff are recruited compliantly, and Professional Services (PS) and Academic staff work together as one team.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the virtual learning environment (VLE), relating to STEM provision.
- Build relationships within the organisation and beyond with offices, agents, and sponsors.
- A bachelor s degree and a postgraduate qualification (Essential)
- A Masters or PhD in a STEM subject is desirable.
- Experience in providing leadership in a complex multi-disciplinary environment, with evidence of success (Essential)
- Experience in using situational leadership to lead and deliver change, with evidence of success (Essential)
