Web Developer
Salary range is £20,000 – £35,000 negotiable, dependant on your skills and experience.
Enhanced salary will be considered for candidates at a fully competent level combined with the appropriate background /experience
The Job
To develop well designed and documented, highly scalable, highly available web based systems and back office solutions as well as providing day to day operational support and development. Working with internet based insurance products and sites within the existing system framework for quotes, sales, policy amendments and renewals to agreed standards and accuracy.
The Division
Primarily you will work for their internet insurance business division, who provide an innovative solution to buying insurance and managing existing insurance policies online. Working within teams primarily made up of Web Developers, IT Technicians and Web Based Product Managers.
Main Duties
Ø Developing insurance products within the current system framework and maintain current products
Ø Interpreting business specifications
Ø Work to agreed deadlines
The Person
Ø Good command of advanced SQL (preferably mySQL) is essential
Ø Knowledge of some of the following technologies .NET (C#)/VB6/PHP
Ø Strong background in Web and application development
Ø Must be an analytically minded problem solver
Ø Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Ø Attention to detail is essential
Ø Experience in object orientated design
Ø Must be able to work to business driven deadlines
The following are also desirable:
Ø Insurance background
Ø Proven commercial experience to competent level
