The audit division's purpose is to provide reliable, valued assurance to the Board and Executive Management over the effectiveness of controls mitigating current and evolving high risks and in so doing enhancing the controls culture within the Group. The department provides independent assurance to the Group CEO, Board Audit Committee and internal stakeholders, as well as certain external stakeholders (typically external auditors and regulators).
The core responsibility for this position is to be aligned to our client's Retail Banking Operations, manage the delivery of the audit plan for this area of the business and to ensure that audit assignments are undertaken in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and quality standards. The holder of this role is responsible and accountable for the quality of the audit work performed and the efficiency and effectiveness of the Retail Banking Audit Team.
A Head of Audit will also act as the key contact point for the business and take responsibility for the audit division's planning process and value-added reporting for UK Retail Banking to enhance the control culture within the Group.
The successful candidate will accordingly manage the day to day relationship between the audit division and the business leaders of the retail banking part of the business.
