The Financial Reporting Fund Accounting Manager has the overall responsibility of ensuring compliance with Fund Accounting Department policies and procedures, internal control requirements, and regulatory requirements for this leading Investment Business . The manager oversees the statutory and other financial reporting production required of the FAD Financial Reporting group, ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met. The manager provides overall guidance to the line groups and direction when needed. The manager further has the responsibility of working on special projects and assignments, as needs dictate.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Responsibilities:·
*Work with staff to ensure the timely and accurate release of NAV and distribution factor information·
*Assist in the resolution of complex accounting issues occurring within the funds·
*Make critical decisions regarding systems issues and interfaces and troubleshoot problems as they arise

Monthly Responsibilities:·
*Review monthly Board reports, Client Reports and other internal documents for accuracy and reasonableness·
*Review dividend rates and provide suggestions for stated rate changes as it is appropriate·
*Approve compliance reviews and provide suggestions for appropriate course of action as necessary·
*Ensure all month end reporting including fee calculations are completed accurately and timely

Periodic Responsibilities:·
*Review and authorise the release of financial statements and other local regulatory reporting·
*Work with the external auditors to resolve issues within the funds·
*Review and comment on tax reporting·
*Review the funds? fiscal year end expense analyses to ensure that final expense accruals are reasonable and consistent·
*Review the departmental procedure manual for accuracy and efficiency

Other Responsibilities:·
*Provide overall planning and direction for Fund Accounting by reviewing and developing departmental policies, procedures and goals·
*Provide for adequate staffing within Fund Accounting and ensure that all employees are appropriately trained·
*Lead, motivate and develop staff·
*Ensure that staff performance issues are resolved and appropriate career feedback is provided at all levels within the department·
*Lead departmental projects and lead or participate in cross-departmental projects.





Who we're looking for
REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING:
*This position requires a University degree in accounting or business and a professional qualification in finance, accounting or management (e.g. CA, ACCA, MBA)
*The successful candidate for this position must have a proven track record in financial accounting with additional exposure to mutual fund accounting or financial reporting.
*Departmental management and supervisory experience is required.
*Experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger, is required.
*Thorough knowledge of mutual fund industry regulations is required.
